ABOUT ME
Passionate About Inspiring Others
Teaching gives me a tremendous amount of pleasure; fuelled by my passion for the subject, the delight in inspiring that passion in others and a lifelong love of literature and learning. Two of the pastimes I enjoy the most are visits to the theatre and reading. I have a fascination for Shakespeare and make regular trips to see The Royal Shakespeare Company’s productions in Stratford upon Avon. My favourite authors include Thomas Hardy, Jane Austen and Margaret Atwood. Thomas Hardy rented a house in Fawley very near to where I live, on the tip of the Wessex Downs, and wrote parts of 'Jude the Obscure' there. It is the last novel that he ever wrote and my all time favourite.

My aim as a teacher is to make my lessons as enjoyable, thought provoking and as stimulating as possible. I believe that the more students are engaged, excited and intrigued with the study of language and literature the more effective learners they become and not just for their school years but for life.

Tutoring Sessions
The hour long online sessions that I offer are specifically tailored to the needs of each individual student and are delivered via Skype or Zoom video call. They are closely focused on the skills requirements of the English Examination Boards.

International Students
I welcome international students studying outside of the UK. I am a CIE iGCSE Assistant Examiner and have previously taught for a number of years in an international school. My working hours are in the UK (GMT) timezone, but as I often tutor evenings and weekends I can accommodate international timezones.
